The iPhone 7 entered the world with a bang, introducing two new colours (black and jet black) on its launch date, and Apple stunned the world once more on March 24, 2017 when they announced  the new brother of the iPhone 7 colours, product RED. For 10 years, Apple's partnership with RED has supported  HIV/AIDS programs that provide counseling, testing, and medicine that prevents the transmitting of HIV from mother to her unborn child. Apple declared so far they have raised over $130 million through the sale of their RED products; Now with the introduction of iPhone 7 Product RED, every sale will bring them closer to an AIDS-free generation. The colour is definitely an eye candy; said to undergo the same production design as the jet black which gives it an alluring glossy red. The phone doesn't differ in any way except its colour; it shares the same features as the iPhones released last September. This special edition iPhone is produced in 128GB and 256GB models at $749 and $869 from the Apple website respectfully.

Gamevice: Generation 2

Gamevice, an accessory maker, released the Generation 2 along with several other mobile gaming controllers for apple devices (Phone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, etc). The Generation 2 is a mobile gaming controller with significant updates from its predecessor, which was released in 2015 for the iPhone 6s. It comes with updated thumb-sticks, improved buttons, a lighter build, and a lightning connector for a simple connection to the device. The controller itself has lightning port on the outside which can be used to charge your phone while gaming.

To turn your iPhone into a gaming device you simply place the phone between each side of the controller and connect to phone to the lightning connector. Like any other traditional gaming controller, the Generation 2 includes two thumb-sticks, a directional pad, shoulder buttons, four "ABXY" face buttons, and a menu button. The thumb-sticks are aligned horizontally, giving the Generation 2 a similar look to the DualShock 4 controllers. The controller also features a headphone jack for optional use during game play.

The Generation 2 was lunched on January 31, and costs $99.95.

2017 Amazon Fire Stick

AMAZON'S 2017 FIRE TV STICK

The new 2017 Amazon Fire TV Stick is Amazon's second generation video streaming device. The Fire Stick is the cheapest of the three video streaming devices (Fire TV Stick, Fire TV and Fire TV gaming edition) produced by Amazon. The Fire Stick allows you to stream full HD video from Amazon Prime, Netflix and other movie streaming mediums, and a sea of apps including Prime Music, Spotify, Hulu and Amazon's growing gaming library. 

This generation  Fire Stick has a complete remodel of its interface ("prettier" and easier to use), a quad-core processor, a faster and improved Wi-Fi, and also comes with Amazon's new Artificial Intelligence (AI), Alexa voice control. The Fire Stick has 8GB of on-board storage for apps and games and 1GB RAM. The new chipset promises to be 30% quicker, while the 802.11ac Wi-Fi ensures more stable streaming, quicker downloads and faster buffering.  The Fire Stick looks like an all -in-one beefed up flash drive with plastic housing that plugs in directly to the HDMI port in the TV. The device measures 3.4 by 1.2 by 0.5 inches in dimension and weighs 32g. A remote is also included in the boxing; it offers a D-pad for navigation, several playback controls and a voice input key. This product is priced at $39.99 on Amazon in the US and has a in stock availability date as May 12th, 2017.

Acer Predator 21X gaming laptop

ACER'S NEWEST GAMING LAPTOP; THE PREDATOR 21X

The first thing you notice when looking at the Predator 21X is its size; It is huge, and with that size comes a massive weight of 8KG. The device is considered a portable desktop rather a laptop because of its size. The Predator 21X features a 21-inch curved display, 2560 by 1080 resolution. Yes, a curved display laptop. Acer noted that it is the first display of its kind on any laptop and it sits flush when the laptop is closed. This laptop isn't the best looking; not even close as a fact. The predator 21X lands more on the rough side; with protruding black and silver edges and a gaudy blue dragon stock graphic slapped above the keyboard; a mockup of a military laptop in action movies. 

But then again, this device wasn't designed to be the most beautiful, but instead a gaming warhorse. The Predator 21 X features two GeForce GTX 1080 X graphics cards linked with Nvidia’s SLI tech, a brand-new seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor, four DDR4 slots for up to 64GB of RAM, and up to four 512GB solid state drives, in the event you need unearthly data transfer speeds. Two of those drives can also be NVMe PCIe SSDs (five times faster than standard SATA drives), thanks to updated interface specifications. The standard hard drive configuration on the Predator 21 X will be 2TB. There’s Tobii eye-tracking built in, a mechanical keyboard with customizable backlight options, and the numeric keypad flips over to transform it into a touchpad. There are also four speakers and two subwoofers, for outsize sound performance, and five cooling fans.

The Acer Predator 21 X gaming laptop is surely an exceptional, well-engineered gaming device to hit the markets, but this exotic laptop comes with at a great cost. This laptop is available for purchase at a whopping $8,999 from retailers in the U.S.

Personally, I think this is an extraordinary gaming laptop and PC gamers will love it; However, because of its size it seems like an idle laptop for stationary gaming rather than portable gaming.

Razer Project Valerie

THE WORLD'S FIRST TRIPLE DISPLAY LAPTOP; PROJECT VALERIE

Project Valerie is another staggering attempt to change world of PC gaming. The first and most obvious features that isolated this PC from its competition is its three displays. This device was built  on top the chassis of  Razer's existing 17.3-inch Blade Pro with an entire revamp of the screen design. The lid has an entirely new housing; thick enough to tuck two 17-inch panels behind the main display. The other two displays are each attached to an articulating arm that sends the panel sliding along the rails either in or out from behind the main display. Razer said that those displays will eject from behind the primary panel automatically with either a hardware button or through software. All three displays sports the same 4K IGZO and 100% RGB colour screen, similar to the one seen in the Blade Pro. Razer has not yet released a full list of specifications for Project Valerie; but, the prototype which was used in CES 2017, is said to be running on a mobile Nvidia GTX 1080 chip. There is no price or release date, as this is far from being a product for the public consumption, but if Razer finds enough demands from users, the company just might build this gaming warhorse for real.

LG G6

 LG's FLAGSHIP OF 2017; THE LG G6.

Design

The design of the LG G6 is certainly more refined than its predecessors. The G6 is framed with a rim of aluminum and covered with two sheets of Gorilla glass; Gorilla glass 5 at the rear and an older version, Gorilla glass 3 at the front. The phone measures 148.9 by 71.97 by 7.9mm in dimensions and weighs 162g. At the bottom of the phone, there is single speaker next to a USB-C connector. LG has kept the headphone jack at the top of the phone: keeping things 'traditional'. It also features a fingerprint sensor at the back: right below the cameras. The G6 is LG's first dust- and water-resistant flagship rated at IP68; Hence, it can handle up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. The LG G6 comes in three colors at launch: platinum, black and white.

Camera

The G6's camera is very much similar to its predecessor with slight upgrades. It sports the same normal and wide-angle camera lenses at the back, which both are now upgraded to 13MP. However, neither the aperture or the pixel size hasn't been improved. The main image sensor packs optical image stabilization with a faster f/1.8 aperture. The other wide-angle sensor does not have image stabilization but an aperture of f/2.4. 

Display

Although LG is such big advocate of OLED panels, and the quality they bring to their TVs, LG still produces their phones with LCD panels. The phone has an 18:9 ratio display rather than the typical 16:9 ration seen on almost every other smartphone. They managed to pack a bigger screen (5.7 inch display) in a shell slightly bigger than its predecessor and noticeably smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The stretched screen called for a much improved resolution. The G6 has a resolution of 2880 by 1440 pixels, pixel density of approximately 565ppi. Although the phone isn’t AMOLED it delivers vivid colours and deep blacks. 

Performance

The G6 runs on Snapdragon 821, the chipset which also appears in the Google Pixel and OnePlus 3T. In benchmarks, the performance of the G6 wasn't impressive but scored similarly to the high-ends phones of 2016 and early 2017. The G6 has 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot for up to 2TB of expandable storage. LG’s UI design is far from the best; But, significantly better than the UI in its predecessor. The 18:9 ration enables you to place two square apps on top of each other, and this makes for much-improved multi-tasking.

Price

The LG G6 will be available to most retailers on April 7, and cost roughly $600 - $720. It is also currently available for pre-order at AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular at different price range depending on your carrier.
